The 1 line. Napoleon I began serving in the army in 1785 not in a soldier’s rank, but a little higher, a junior lieutenant of artillery. During the Great French Revolution, he reached the rank of brigadier general. Then he received the following ranks: division general, commander of the rear, commander of the Italian army.
