Внутри этой действительности интересы советского государства и граждан совпадали: экономический рост вел к умножению знаний и удовольствий, к мобильности по свободному выбору человека. Но, кроме того, во время путешествия граждане становились свободными от государства, сами разрабатывали маршруты, требовали для себя автономии. Однако в конечном счете – может быть, именно из-за улучшения жизни – они оставались лояльными государству, которое сделало для них возможным самопознание через путешествия.
