Эта книга не призывает вернуться к семейным ценностям, к общине или к ограничению свободы. Однако она со всей серьезностью относится к феминистской и религиозной критике сексуальной свободы и утверждает, что свобода с помощью психологических индустрий позволила щупальцам скопического капитализма захватить власть и в сфере нашей деятельности, и в нашем воображении, чтобы помочь справиться с многочисленными эмоциональными и психическими нарушениями, которые она же и создает. И если свобода хоть что-нибудь значит, то она, безусловно, должна включать в себя знание о невидимых силах, которые связывают и ослепляют нас.
