All the team members already gathered at the bottom. We didn't win the bet, unable to cope with the installation on to four o'clock. But we almost never lost to the crew. Lou had to crow three times on the terms of the bet. He stood in a pose, folded his hands around his mouth and shouted… "Kukareku!", then another and another. Everybody laughed, Lou bowed theatrically, and then we started to get acquainted with each other. We were lucky — it turned out that the official language of communication was English, and each team member spoke English.

Lou disappeared for a while among all the activity going and then appeared with two mugs of water. We with Bigben have drunk it with great pleasure. The captain said we could go to the galley along with half of the team, returning from a walk, and Steve, the cook on the ship, would feed us lunch.

Есть хотелось теперь не меньше, чем пить, и это было здорово, что нас пригласили пообедать. Не заставив себя ждать, мы вместе с частью команды прошли на камбуз. Стив приготовил жаркое с картошкой, совсем как на суше. На столе стояли нарезанные овощи и хлеб. Голодными были не только мы, но и моряки, вернувшиеся из города.

I now wanted to eat no less than to drink, and it was great that we were invited to lunch. Not forcing ourselves to wait, we with a part of the team went to the galley. Steve made a roast with potatoes just like on land. On the table, there were dishes with sliced vegetables and bread. The hungry were not only we but also sailors that returned from the city.
